A custom earmold is an ear piece shaped to the individual’s ear that couples the amplified sound produced by a hearing aid to the ear canal. A custom earmold requires an ear impression. The audiologist will take the impression of the ear and send it to an earmold manufacturer to be cast into a custom earmold.
There are different styles of earmolds (shell, half-shell, skeleton, semi-skeleton, canal) and different materials are used (acrylic, medical silicone) depending on the degree of hearing loss, shape of the ear canal and concha.
The earmold is an essential part of the hearing aid fitting as it prevents acoustic feedback. A replacement of the earmold is necessary when the earmold and its tubing turn yellowish and stiff.
These include ear defenders and musician earmolds.
We provide sleeper molds, swim molds, communication molds (for radio transmitters, cellphones) and earpieces for stethoscopes.
Hearing aid batteries are available in the following sizes: 10, 312, 13 and 675.
Please keep away from children and pets.
